About the Department of AIHC & Arch

Abiding by the educational ideals of our founding inspiration and great visionary Dr. Annie Besant, the department of A.I.H.C & Arch. at Vasant Kanya Mahavidyalaya, inquires into almost every aspect of history of traditional and tolerant Indian society and its institutions. It seeks credibility from archaeological methods to investigate literary, artistic and scientific temperament of ancient people. We serve the college by providing quality education to undergraduate and post-graduate students who are able to undertake objective inquiry into the glorious past of India. The department was established in the year 1969. Dr. Krishna Goswami was the first In-charge of the Department, succeeded by Dr. Nandini Verma.

Participation in the programs of INTACH is a regular activity for better understanding of the art of conservation and importance of heritage management.
